Covid-19: Our Response
We are living in turbulent times and although we can’t predict the future, or even know what tomorrow may bring, we will continue to provide grants for individuals, couples and families. We will closely monitor government guidance and emerging funding sources, and adapt our grants where we can to enable us to respond to changing needs.
Due to social distancing or stock availability, our suppliers may at times limit the range of goods they can deliver and install. Please check our latest news regularly in the News and Updates section on the front page of this website for the latest range of goods and services available.
We are mindful of the many challenges facing support workers, who are adapting and delivering services with reduced resources and significant uncertainty. To help, we will simplify how we work.
- We have introduced verbal consent protocols during the lockdown period; and grants for items other than those supplied by AO or Dreams (or where stock is unavailable) will be made to applicant organisations by a BACS transfer.
We expect our income to fall as a result of Covid-19, so the number of grants we will be able to provide may be less than recent years. As a result, if requests for support significantly exceed our funding, we may need to close our Essential Living Fund to new applications for short periods. However, we will publicise any short-term closures, in advance, to minimise the effect on individuals and their support workers.

- As our staff team are working from home we are unable to answer phone calls during the lockdown period. However, we can still be contacted by email for queries, where information is not available on our website: grants@glasspool.org.uk.
