Over the last four months we have been working with hundreds of support workers to address the impact of Covid-19 on individuals, couples and families. There has been almost constant change and we appreciate how difficult it has been. As the effects of Covid-19 look to continue for many weeks and months we have changed how we work.
We are able to accept new applications from 11am each Monday (then between 9am to 6pm daily). Once we have received as many applications as we can potentially fund for a week, you will not be able to submit any new applications until 11am the following Monday. This will be a Tuesday if Monday is a bank holiday.
Due to Covid-19 we are receiving significantly more applications than we can fund. This means that once we have allocated our grants budget, we will have to decline applications, even if they meet our eligibility criteria. Other funders can be found via Turn2Us’ grants search. Please apply to other funders before applying to us, to help reduce the number of applications we receive. Please only apply for people who are most in need of support. Thank you for your understanding.
Now more than ever, people are in need of support for basic household items and clothing. To enable us to help as many people as we can, we are only able to consider one request per application from Glasspool funds. If you are supporting a woman please read the Glasspool – Smallwood partnership page of this website, as further support may be available.
Please keep well,
The Team at Glasspool
We are delighted to announce that we are extending the partnership with the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington and the Earl of Northampton’s Charity The funding will enable us to increase our support to people aged 55 and older who live in London through the funding from the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington or in Norfolk, through the funding from the Earl of Northampton’s Charity. This will enable those people to adjust to the challenges of ageing and lead a fulfilling life.
Due to locally reported incidents of Covid-19 we are self-isolating the Glasspool office initially for one week, from 16 to 20 March 2020.
We are pleased to announce that we have published our 2018/19 impact report.
With the closure of a large number of local authority welfare schemes, the vital safety net for many has disappeared. This leaves them in challenging situations, without access to the most basic items necessary for a safe and comfortable home life. That is why we award small one-off grants for essential household items and clothing. We make no restrictions on who we award our grants to, so long as they are legally resident in the UK.
To read our 2018/19 Impact Report please visit the Reports section on our website.
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with GrantsPlus (our grants management system) which has resulted in the server going offline. We expect the problem to be resolved by Wednesday (5th February 2020) or sooner. Unfortunately, we are unable to review your applications during this period. We apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst the system is offline.
We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Newby Trust (the Trust).
From July 2019 to June 2020, we will be administering the Trust’s small grants programme (£50,000) allocating grants for individuals in need in accordance with the Trust’s criteria.
We are pleased to announce that from 4th April 2019 until further notice we will be working with AO Retail Limited, who will be fulfilling our orders for white goods. As a result of this change we must have our new consent form, which now names AO as our white goods supplier, completed to ensure we are GDPR compliant.
Registered Support Workers can download the new form via our grants management system. Support Workers requiring any assistance should call the Grants Team on 0203 141 3161 (Mon to Fri – 9:30 to 12:30).
Due to GDPR we will not be able to accept any previous version of the consent form.
